We ate at the same pavillion where we had dinner the night before
and the food was catered by the same folks. It was very good.
As we got going, the weather was fabulous once again. We rode
through Grayling around 10:00. I stopped at Cartwright & Danewell,
the canoe and kayak outfitter from whom I bought some of the camping
gear that I used on my cross-continent ride. From Grayling we
went past Hartwick Pines State Park. Some riders stopped there
to seet he last of Michigan's old growth timber. I forgot what
was there and just zoomed on by (a pity).
\At Waters, after a really long downhill run and just west of
I-75, Rao, Steve, Daryl and I stopped for an early lunch at McDonalds
(certainly not my favorite--but quick).
We rode past the Gaylord NOAA weather facility and its huge radome.

The ride into Gaylord put us on the west side of I-75. We crossed
under I-75 on M-32, a busy 4-lane, but the drivers seemed courteous
and understanding as we rode all the way through Gaylord and then
cut north to the high school, where we camped for the night.
We got there early in the afternoon and it was hot. Del and Nancy, who
typically ride their tandem at about 20 mph, were already camped
out, or, should I say passed out in their tent.

For dinner, we ate pizza in the High School cafeteria.

Several of us walked about a mile and a half to town for a beer or two after dinner and then walked back. It was a beautiful evening.
