Internet Access?

Does anyone know if there is free internet access in any of the overnight communities along the 5 day UP route? If so, where?

The only consistent internet access that I'm aware of is by people with Blackberries or other cell based access. And that depends on the cell service availability. Otherwise, I'd look to McDonald's free wifi or local libraries (which may not be open on the weekend). By the way, if you plan to put a computer in your baggage, be sure it is VERY WELL PROTECTED, since the bags will be literally thrown from the baggage trucks each afternoon. Most of us put our computer/internet habits on hold for 5 days during DALMAC. :D

If I want to write a ride report or keep a log, I use an old-fashioned notepad and type it up when I get home. You can't break a notepad. Get one that fits inside a baggie so it stays dry. The camera goes with me on the bike, not in the baggage.
