What Is NorthWest Tour?

NorthWest Tour is a five day bicycle tour in the beautiful Sleeping Bear Dunes and Leelanau areas of Michigan’s northwest Lower Peninsula. It’s a fun tour with great scenery and good roads through many small towns and tourist areas, and it features the convenience of a single camping location. The Indigo Bluffs Resort, 3.5 miles east of Empire, will be our host for the tour.

Each day’s route will have a longer and shorter option. The area has its share of hills so expect some challenges no matter which routes you take.

The tour begins on Wednesday, June 13th and ends on Sunday, June 17th. There is camping available starting on Wednesday after 12:00 Noon. On Sunday you must return to the campground in time to pack and leave by 3:00pm.

This is a tent camping tour. Our campsites are in a wooded area, with nice restrooms and showers. Campsite space for recreational vehicles/popups is available but the responsibility of the participant as it is not included in the tour fee. Call Indigo Bluffs Resort at (231) 326-5566 to reserve a site.

Included in the basic fee are tent camping facilities, route maps, SAG service, and meals. Breakfast and dinner Thursday through Saturday and a Continental Breakfast on Sunday are provided and served under a large canopy in the camping area. There will be group campfires with “S’mores” and munchies in the evenings.

NorthWest Tour is sponsored by the Tri-County Bicycle Association (TCBA) and is open to all capable, interested bicyclists. You need not be a member of any organization to participate.

The first 200 entries will be accepted. Registration ends when this limit is reached or by May 15th.
