Summetour 2000 Report
by Ed Noonan

Summertour is a 5 day leisurely tour of Michigan. Summertour 2000 started in Reed City on July 12. About 140 of us rode from Reed City to Silver Lake, stayed 2 nights in the State campground, rode from a selection of day rides on the second day, then rode to Manistee, where we stayed another two nights in the State campground, riding from a selection of day rides on the second day. From Manistee, on the fifth day, we rode back to Reed City. We had a relaxing time in beautiful weather enjoying such gourmet establishments as Dog-n-Suds in White Lake:

Several of us rode self-contained from Lansing to the Summertour starting point in Reed City.

Much of the tour revolved around food stops. They were spectacular, like this bakery in Hart.

Several of us stopped at the County Dairy dairy bar along the Hart-Montague rail trail for chocolate milk, buttermilk and ice cream. Great stuff!

We actually had a quorum of the TCBA Board (Ed, Lenny, Tom & Lou) at Dog-n-Suds in White Lake.

Lovebirds Lou and Kathleen announced their engagement at Dog-n-Suds.

It was hot! Val & Gary ate ice cream.

Jim ate ice cream.

Tom and Linda ate ice cream.

At Manistee, we watched the sunset over Lake Michigan.
