Originally designed for professional Pro Tour mechanics, the bike stand is ideal for cleaning and general repair work. A 2023 Velo review describes the bike stand as follows: “Take a stroll through the pits of any professional road race and you’ll see mechanics working only with cradle-type repair stands. These stands differ from those with a tube clamp commonly found in bike shops. They support the bike from beneath, and the only part of the bike that is clamped is a wheel dropout. Along with offering a more stable and arguably safer hold of the bike, race repair stands are built to allow 360-degree access to the bike without having to move and are better suited to tight spaces.”
